lower jaw surgery for lip incompetence??

To all the vets on board hope you can help me. I will be having

lower jaw surgery with genioplasty. My top jaw is perfect

but my lower jaw needs to be brought forward 5to 6mm with genio

If ones lips do not meet at rest will this do the trick?
