Hiya everyone, remember me, lol...

Apologies for not checking in as often, i have been away and

preparing to go back to uni. I dont know how you guys manage to

keep up, your stars all of you!!!!

A brief recap for those who are new to the group. My name is

Katerina (KAT) im now 19 and live in the UK. I had my surgery

through the NHS just over 2 years ago now. Surgery was to correct a

class III under bite. I had both upper and lower jaw surgery also

with sinus work and palatal work. I was in hospital for five days,

on a liquid diet for six weeks, followed by the 'mushy' diet for 3

months. Prior to surgery (3 months) i had another surgery to remove

my wisdom teeth. Also instead of the ordinary plates and screws my

surgeon used he tried out the new 'dissolvable plates and screws' on

me. i was the first patient to have them, and from my point of view

i have had no trouble and as far as i can feel they seem to have

dissolved. The inital jaw surgery was so much better than i

expected. I had no pain and minimal bruising, though i was

swollen. In the first five days i lost a stone in weight. I was

also on a morphene drip.

I have NO regrets what so ever for having this surgery the pros

totally out weigh the cons!

Having this site was a godsend, the people on it are a godsend and i

dont think i would have been as prepared as well as i was if it

wasnt for these guys, i know i wouldnt have, thankyou!!!!!!

Anyway just wanted to re introduce myself adn welcome the newbies to

the group and to wish both post and pre op good luck!!!!

For those of you pre op or post please feel free to post/email a

message with any queeries about my surgery.

Kind regards

Kat_uk
