Hi, !

I'm bummed for you that you're going through what you're going through. Hang in

there. Cammie gave you some good advice!

I was an RA and a hall manager when I was in college and a hall director for two

years

after I graduated, so I know what's coming for you. Move-in day and the first

week

are going to be crazy, but remember you've got a whole staff of other RAs and

your

director (or whatever he/she is called at your school) to give you support. You

aren't

alone in this job--it's a group effort to keep the hall running smoothly. Being

an RA

is one of those jobs that can take and take and take in the beginning, so make

sure

you set some limits, especially since you're healing.

Also, my best friend gave me some advice as to how to introduce my swollen face

to

my little boy when he came home from Grandma's house. She said that how I

handled it would affect how he handled it--if I was scared and nervous and on

edge,

he would be, too. I think the same would apply to a bunch of first year

students. As

Cammie said, they will be more than willing to fight the good fight with you

because

you're all in similar boats. And the journey will get better for everyone as

time goes

on!!

If you need anything, feel free to email me at saima23@.... I'd be glad to

help.
