Guest guest
, I've been too busy to check my emails for a couple weeks, but while deleting the 1200 that had accumulated, I ran across your question about insurance. My insurance policy said that all treatment for obesity was excluded, period. When we called the insurance company (united healthcare) they said the same thing...it was not covered under any circumstances. I went ahead and went to the consult with the surgeon on December 2nd, just hoping for a miracle, or a base from which to start the appeal process. Well, today I got a call, and the surgery had been approved by my insurance. Why? I have no idea. But they approved it the first time...these people who had written and verbalized a definate " no. " Don't give up hope...and go to the consult. Miracles do happen.
