Thinking of getting surgery

A few months ago I decided to go to the orthodontist to get braces

for my crooked front teeth and before I knew it he was

mentioning " Lower mandibular deficiency " and operations etc. I must

admit it seems really drastic. I still am going to go ahead with the

braces but am not too sure about the surgery. I have a long thin face

and think the surgery may make it worse.

There is 11mm between my top teeth and bottom teeth and my lower jaw

will have to be advanced considerably. I can see how the operation

will give me a far better side profile but it it will not suit my

face from other angles as it seems quite masculine. I have not gone

back to the orthodontist yet to find out the details.

I am posting this message to know if there are any others out there

who had the operation and were happy with the end result??
