I spoke to the man in my health food store about this and he explained it had

something to do with government regulated labeling laws -- possibly regarding

those with diabetes I don't recall exactly. He said for all intents and

purposes we should only concern ourselves with the " effective, " " impact " or

" net " carbs which are way lower than the 15 you speak of.

For example, my Atkins Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar has 21 grams carbs on the

nutrition label but only 2 grams " net " carbs and my AdvantEdge Apple Cinnamon

Bar has 19 grams on the nutritional label but only 3 grams " impact " carbs.

These bars have been serving me well - I tend to get gas and diarrhea from

too many carbs and that has never happened to me with a protein bar.
