hi my name is beth. I am 4 weeks post op, had my lower jaw and chin

moved forward. my splint was recently removed and I am now able to

talk, yawn, brush teeth better and reintroduce myself back to solid

food again (starting with soft, mushy foods first)

my question is 1. Has anyone experienced TMJ problems after removing

wires, splints and getting back to your normal bite.

2. Has anyone experienced hearing noises such as popping,

clicking, grating noises that scares the heck out of me by the way...

since they removed my splint, my midline are not aligned, my lower

midline is shifted to the right. My OS said that braces will correct

this and continue to do my exercises. BUT, i think it's weird that

i'm shifting to the right and my right TMJ hurts, it feels like I

have an ear infection, making me more paranoid because I feel that I

am dislocating my jaw or something. Plus the noises I hear scares

me too because I'm thinking what if the screws and plates are coming

lose. Am I completely paranoid??? has anyone else experienced this?

I'd appreciate any input and Thanks in advance. I do have an appt.

with my OS in a few days and I may just call them to check in but

would still love to hear input from actual patients that has gone

through this.
