Hi ,

I hear you...I am 6wks post-op Mon and I was about 99% down on

swelling, bands for some hrs when last week (week 4) I slammed back

into lots of talking....hours and hours per day (ps-I had upper and

genio) and then it happened...felt a little funky but nothing visual

until Saturday...my upper lip and lower nose, basically where the

upper incision is poufed up and got sort a stiff, just as I was able

to start using my upper lip comfortably when talking. I didn't think

it was too obvious, until I visited an ill relative and on first

glace, she said, oh you're swollen, are you in pain?

Today is another day like that. TOO much talking and POOF! (I am a

recruiter, talk, talk, blah, blah yadda...)

Thank goodness, my OS 2 wks running is not concerned, because I am

cautious...just tells me to relax and not talk whenever I can and

alert him to anything severe.

I bet 100-to-1 that the chewing impact has caused you to poof

some...take it easy on you, I know the hard pretzels and steak are

calling, but be nice to you meanwhile and please tell me if heat is

encouraged...I know in the shower in the morning I take a hot

washcloth and rest it on my ouchie areas some and it feels nice but I

wasn't sure if I should do this periodically.......

hang in there JO
