Guest guest
Dr. Felica Axelrod President American Autonomic Society My wife was diagnosed with MSA in 1998, at the age of 61. We both had retired the year before. Prior to this my wife had the run of symptoms including incontinence and loss of balance, etc and this young neurologist said although he was not certain he felt it was MSA and gave us this medical report on MSA written by Dr a Ravin a neurologist at UMass Medical Center in Worcester, Ma. for us to read on our trip to Florida. You can imagine our reaction and how we excercised the denial stage during our stay. Upon our return we visited with Dr Ravin who confirmed the initial diagnosis. Since that time the disease has progressed and we are experiencing the progression of symptoms that go with this horrible disease. Today the world is filled with life threatening aggression and diseases and our hearts go out to all of the innocent people who are harmed or afflicted. However, those of us who are afflicted with or have loved ones who are afflicted with MSA , realizing we are a small majority, need the help of the medical profession and the political environment to pursue the research to treat this mysterious disease called MSA. Thank you for your efforts. Jim/Connie Bynum Enfield, Ct. October 20, 2002
