Guest guest
I slept in a bed from the day I got home from surgery. I bought one of those bed pillows with arms, and added some small cushions to pad out the back a bit. That might help. Then again, your surgeon might give you the go ahead to sleep flat. I still think a chiropractor adjustment could help, and if you've already got a relationship (even old) with one, maybe one or two sessions would help get you back to normal. But again, I hesitate because you're not very far out from surgery. Unless they just do the rib hugging adjustment, they wouldn't be able to apply any pressure to the back while you're lying down. The pains I've had from work tend to start sometimes in the shoulder, sometimes in the forearms, sometimes upper arms, occasionally in the wrist. Most commonly, I feel it in the forearms near the elbows, that's when I know I need to step up my exercising. Your fiance sounds like a sweetie. My husband stayed 24x7 in the hospital with me, got zero sleep as they gave him a hard leather reclining chair to sleep in at night (it squeaked whenever he moved) and an ordinary hard chair to sit on during the day. I couldn't have done as well without him there, but he sure was pooped when he got home. We both crashed on day 5 post-op, I think. > I have had pains in my neck big time before from work and the desk/pc > thing---this isn't that and it's not starting at my hands, but > somewhere in my neck/shoulder/back...the dang yet blessed reclyner is > to blame I am 99.9% sure...bec I always wake up in pain and can't get > comfie to sleep there anymore either...tongiht I am breaking the mold > and telling my OS...sure I will sleep up at 90 degrees if you want me > to, but I am moving bk to my bed for some serious rest.......... > plus my poor-wonderful+loving fiance, has been sleeping all crunched > on our counh for 2 wks now and he already has neck/bk probs...he's > been in a lot of pain too and been so quiet about it as I am his > first concern...but I think some bed sleep would be a good thing for > both of us...and if not then back to the chair I go! > > thanks again, JO
