Guest guest
I suffer from rosacea and seb derm. I am using Protopic to control the seb derm, Selsun Blue shampoo and i have had 8 photofacial sessions. Before I had my last photofacial my forehead broke out in bumps and pustules in one area. I ignored this and had my treatment, the doc said that photofacial somehow helps to stop these pustules etc. Anyway, it`s 3 weeks since my treatment and my forehead is now getting worse, loads of new pustules and red bumps appear every day. I went to my doctor and he prescribed me a course of Oxytetracycline, which I have now been taking for a couple of weeks with absolutely no improvement. My forehead itches and is bumpy, even without pustules I can see a lot of isolated redness just under the skin.. What is going on? Am I being impatient with the Oxytetracycline. Or is it just a reaction to the photofacial and will calm down, as the treatment was really heavy duty, loads of bruising for a week? I`m at a loss. Guest guest
Did anyone read the article in Ladies Home Journal about heart conditions? I wish I'd brought it to work so I could type with more than my memory. The article briefly and I do mean briefly mentioned that familiar drugs could interfere with heart rhythms i.e. erthymician (can't spell) and prescription non sedating antihistamines. What's this all about? Like I don't have enough to worry about now - Tetracycline > > > > > > About two and a half weeks ago, I began tetracycline treatment, > > primarily to control the acne flares which have been persistent for a > > few months. Guest guest
I haven't seen the article you speak of, but I SUSPECT they may be referring to an adverse interaction (which was first reported over 10 years ago) between erythromycin and SELDANE, a non-sedating antihistamine, which has since been taken off the market in the US. It was found that the combination caused irregular heart rhythms. I don't think this is true of erthromycin alone or any class of antihistamines, except in certain combinations. Before taking any new drug, check the patient info to see if it interacts with other drugs you are taking. Also, it's a good idea to use the same pharmacy for all Rx's, so they can track interactions too. trackgalcal > Did anyone read the article in Ladies Home Journal about heart conditions? > I wish I'd brought it to work so I could type with more than my memory.
