I have never heard of medical covering the braces either. usually

they pay a maximum of around 1,200 to 1,500. For my daughter we had

a $4,300 bill minus what insurance paid (part of the maximum had

already been paid out in a pre-treatment so I don't remember the

exact amount. Then due to the surgery delay due to her car accident

and new insurance because we moved we had to pay a new orthodontist

in our new city somewhere around $4,000 all over again to get us

through treatment before and after surgery. It was like starting

over again.

I took my daughter to the surgeon today. One week post op. He

thinks she is doing great. We seemed to have turned the corner last

couple of days and she is doing much better. Still tightly banded

so liquids is all we can get in. Next week he will put less tight

bands on and she should be able to get soft things like apple sauce

in. That will be good.
