Guest guest
Hello ! Wow! I am just amazed by the kind of comments you have heard people say when it comes to this surgery. Their minds are very small and you are above them. I know it's difficult being around people who talk or think this way. It's hard not to be influenced by their petty, uneducated and insensitive comments. Try and surround yourself with positive people and ignore the idiotic, crazy comments you hear " small minded " people say. They will continue to stay in their own small world no matter what you do and they will always find someone to talk about. Someday they themselves may mature, grow-up and expand their world, but for now all you can do is take care yourself and how your react to this kind of backward thinking. Don't let them influence you and how you feel about yourself! Their comments are about themselves and their own insecurity in life. I don't have this quote exactly correct, but the gist goes like this: " Great minds talk about ideas, average minds talk about things and small minds talk about people. " Those that think small are losing out on life and all the wonderful people they could embrace and learn from. Let them stay where they are. Pull yourself out of that environment as much as you can and be proud of what you are doing for yourself and your own physical health. People like this may not ever understand. Try not to feel you have to explain or rationalize what you are doing to them. They have not evolved enough as people to have the capability to understand the world with any degree of depth. I distinctly remember a time in my life when I knew I didn't want to be around people like that. Once I got a glimpse of how people with depth interacted, I knew I wanted that for myself. It took many years to move in the direction I wanted to go personally and develop a new network of friends who were educated, interesting, and open-minded. I feel so much happier now. I am hoping for the same for you, . Patti T. SMDC, Duluth, MN Dr. Jon Krook Pre-op Lap RNY 2/3/2004 308/
