Thanks to all for your replies and kind offers.

I just received word after my brother got home this weekend from " old fart "

reactivation training, that, at this time, he will be relocated (from Alaska)

and activated out of the 1st Cav., Ft. Hood, TX. His departure is delayed

from Alaska to allow him to get his personal and military affairs in order.

His deployment will be April 13, via Ft. Hood, then, IRAQ.

Good news (for me and his family) however. At " old fart trainng, " his

General offered him the position of Brigade Safety Officer (military term for

Risk Management) and he ACCEPTED. THANK GOD!!!! As proud as I am of him as

a Black Hawk driver, I am more at ease with him in management positions on

the ground, even if it IS in war-torn Iraq. Even though he feels he may be

somewhat more bored not flying, I say as a Brigade-level officer, he'll be

busy enough, like a dad taking care of his children. His recent civilian

skills, since his earlier Black Hawk retirement, were elementary school

teacher, then elementary school principal, and those skills better suit him

to " risk management " for the Army's 1st Cavalry. Go Army! Knowing my

brother, it'll be the " safest " brigade by far!

So, when I get more info on his stationing-status in Iraq, I will notify the

group (if he allows me -- he's rather private). By the way, he's the kind of

guy that will open any care packages he should receive and " share the

wealth. " That's the kind of guy he is. He's my hero!

Again, my thanks to you all -- God bless America and our fighting forces, and

God bless my brother!

<<Is there anyway we can bake or send goodies to your brother and his

something. I have homemade brownies just sitting here because I can't eat

them. I would love to do something personal for the troops. I sent email

messages, but seems like I could do more. I don't have a husband or

son to send, perhaps I could send goodies instead along with my prayers.
