Guest guest
FAY, DAN, ET AL: I, too, am misunderstood and misquoted and at times feel misaligned with the world. Those who would wear the shoe...as in Fay's case, are insulted and upset because they (she) felt a attacked, when in fact Fay ws offering her some help. I am described as blunt, direct, and opinionated. Well, I am. When I have tried to be more circuituous, I have been misunderstood, and told 'well, why didn't you just say so?' So I 'say so', and am shut out by those who don't want to hear, or may not choose to hear. whatever. Yes, I have opinions. When what I percieve as injustice, callous disregard, bigotry, racism, undue profanity ...you get the picture... are bandied about...and I am not a prude, I feel morally obligated to speak up, or give the appearance of being in agrement with it. That I cannot abide. SO, my inner compass leads me to estrangement at times, but I am straight with myself and my higher power...I am a true and loyal friend, and will rise to the occasion as many times as needed. I HAVE learned to choose my battles, question whether I am seeing the forest or the trees, and bide my time. Many years ago in a support group, the leader often spoke of 'say what you mean and mean what you say.' I still believe her to be right about that. Being described as 'eccentric' happens... that's ok. Better than dull and boring. My best wishes and compassion to you both.
