Hi, im having orthognathic surgery this summer, braces go on nxt

monday the 6th, im already a little nervous about the whole ordeal,

primarily post op, im mainly curious on tubes being inserted...and

how that works.....second the whole vomit thing, im unsure about how

to handle that etc etc....and then overall i guess what those 2 are

mainly associated with is breathing, ive had some minor breathing

problems throughout my life, im just curious as to how hard it is

throughout the process ive also had problems with panic attacks

about 3 years nothing serious i overcame them easily once i realized

it was in my head so that concerns me a little...ive had my tonsils

taken out broken both ankles a few times and tore stuff in them my

broke my nose 3 times which i had surgery on and my wisdom teeth

taken out....can anyone tell me how the pain would measure up to

anyone of those, my tonsils were the worse, and secondly just about

how breathing goes , im not necesarily nervous i guess im moreso

curious.....i dunno enough rambling anything will help, thanks alot!

Hi!

I recently had orthognathic surgery and had similar concerns. I

suffered mild vomiting from swallowing blood, but nothing unbearable

and certainly nothing that would damage the result. I have had

asthma and was also woried about the breathing, but found that it

was pretty good, I just had to get used to not breathing out of my

nose for a bit, but that all cleared up with time. My surgeon was

really good in making sure I was comfortable with the breathing. I

am only a teenager, and this was my first anaesthesia, so I panicked

about everything! I got through it all, so you will be fine!
