It depends on who's doing the surgery, the teacher or the student!

It's serious enough surgery that I wouldn't want a trainee working on

me. I had mine done at a teachers hospital and get to have it redone

cuz it wasn't done properly the first time. I didn't have the nerve to

ask my OS if he did the procedure himself or had an intern do it. IMO

i'd go to the most qualified you can find cuz the complications can be

permanent! It also depends what you are having done. If your insurance

isn't covering it it's probably cosmetic and all the more reason to

get the best. good luck in whatever you choose. eric

While I can't say I share this experience with you...I can tell you

that my OS had his surg done as a resident, BY a fellow RESIDENT when

he was in med school...and he looks fabulous...to the point that most

of the ladies swoon over him. So I think it's best to ask to talk to

other patients who have done such there...with HIPPA laws they are

bound to say no at first, but ask them to ask a patient or 2...with

that person's permission, you may have the inside scoop that you need.
