Guest guest
It depends on who's doing the surgery, the teacher or the student! It's serious enough surgery that I wouldn't want a trainee working on me. I had mine done at a teachers hospital and get to have it redone cuz it wasn't done properly the first time. I didn't have the nerve to ask my OS if he did the procedure himself or had an intern do it. IMO i'd go to the most qualified you can find cuz the complications can be permanent! It also depends what you are having done. If your insurance isn't covering it it's probably cosmetic and all the more reason to get the best. good luck in whatever you choose. eric > Has anyone had surgery done through a training program. Guest guest
While I can't say I share this experience with you...I can tell you that my OS had his surg done as a resident, BY a fellow RESIDENT when he was in med school...and he looks fabulous...to the point that most of the ladies swoon over him. So I think it's best to ask to talk to other patients who have done such there...with HIPPA laws they are bound to say no at first, but ask them to ask a patient or 2...with that person's permission, you may have the inside scoop that you need.
