Dear Friends,

Well, here we go with the positives as well as the negatives of Discovery

Health. First off, I watched some of the show about skin removal that took like

15 pounds of skin off a lady from England. That was not so bad. In fact, I am

still mulling over some questions in my mind about what really goes on after the

weight loss surgery that we are familiar with (questions that I might add came

as a result of viewing both programs.) However, I was really disappointed in the

program " Christie's Story " while it did profile her want and need for the

surgery as well as the surgeon's visit and the surgery itself, I think that what

it portrayed in the aftermath of the surgery played more like a seen from a

prison movie. It essentially goes from good to bad to worse by ending up with

her and her daughter going from the projects to a woman's shelter.

In my opinion. the Discovery Health Channel should have run a program that they

did awhile back on Weight Loss Surgery that I thought was real good. It

portrayed a person who had the surgery and followed him before during and after

the surgery- and it was all presented in away that was positive. This just goes

to show that someone needs to give the producers and programmers of the channel

a little more positive enlightenment on just who we are. Perhaps they need to

run a marathon of " I Lost It! " programs.
