Elevated Liver Enzymes

I had all my labs done late January and all was fine except for

slightly elevated liver enzymes. My doctor was going to have them

retested in a few more weeks but yesterday I had such severe pain

right in between my breasts and radiating to my back that I ended up

in the emergency room last night.

They tested the liver enzymes again and AST was 36 in January, and

last night it was 561 and the alkaline phosphatase jumped from 116 in

January to 200 yesterday. The results didn't come back in yet last

night while I was at the hospital for the ALT which was also slightly

elevated in January.

Anyway, I was given an IV with saline and felt much better after that

and sent home with instructions to follow up with my doctor whom I'll

be seeing tomorrow morning to address this.

The doctor at the hospital suspected hepatitis because when I had my

WLS I was given 33 units of blood. However, that was three years ago,

this June so I wonder if this could have laid dormant all this time

and never showed up on any labs I had done? , do you know

anything about this? He did say that without further knowledge about

my situation he could not truly diagnose what the problem is but

there is definitely some liver problem.

I came to work today and feel so-so. No pain but still a bit dry so

drinking water non stop to stay hydrated. I don't feel much like

eating which is very rare for me! I did have a protein drink for

breakfast and will keep nutrition and water going into me.

Anyway, I am wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them and

has any ideas? I'd like to go to my doctor tomorrow armed with as

much knowledge as possible.

Oh, I do not drink so that is not the cause of any of it!
