Guest guest
Hi family, In choosing my goal weight I had to look at several issues. I started at 274 lbs. and I am a female 5 feet 2 1/2 inches tall. The insurance chart says I should weigh between 125/128 lbs...yea...right.... Then there is my age...I will be 62 in May...and probably the most deciding factor for me to consider....I am pear shaped. I carry most of my weight in my hips and thighs....My middle name should be Bartlett !! At first I thought I would be happy if I ever got below 200 lbs. It had been over 20 years since that happened...Once below the 200 mark I started to think maybe I could get to 170...and then maybe 160....talk about a dream. Today I weighed 171...a total loss of 103 lbs .. I lose a pound or two more and gain it back...over and over again. I haven't lost anymore significant weight for 5 months. For me it isn't a magic number on the scale but more of a store size. I thought all my problems would be solved when I could finally shop " downstairs " but now I have a new set of problems. Carrying most of my weight in my hips and thighs I am between sizes. I am a 16/18 on the bottom. I can wear some 16's but that depends on the brand. I wish they made a size 17. Often pants will come 14/16 and 18/20 and I am right smack dab in the middle. If a fairy godmother could wave her magic wand I would like to be a comfortable 14....dare I dream? It is said that Marilyn Monore was a 14 and Mae West was a 16!! I am doing water aerobics and have a trainer at the gym and am working on the strength machines and have started the Plastic Surgery process of having a body lift. These things might help me...besides I am trying to watch the Carb monster. I am off birdwatching today....Spring migration is here. in Houston
