I totally agree with you! In fact, I just received a very sweet letter in

the mail yesterday from Dr Fox stating that I had not had labs done since

October, nor had I seen them in 2 years, and how important it was to him that

he followed me through LIFE, not just immediately pre and postop. They sent

me a lab slip with the full gammit of labs to be done. However, my

hematologist did run some comprehensive tests, and the vitamin A, B12, etc.,

but I am planning on getting these done anyway. Do you think it's too soon

to have the full lab work done since I had some of it done in January? I am

trying to do the vites on my own rather than get them IV. Haven't had IV

vitamins in a month. ??? My total iron studies were low - but

ferritin is excellent now (179) with the supplement of all those iron

infusions... hgb is 11.5, but I have enough ferritin to cover it but the

total iron adn TIBC and saturation are still low . I'm thinking I will fax

up the labs to the surgeon's (Drs. Fox/Oh) and let them take a look and see

what I need to be doing to get OUT of this malnutrition!

Vicki.... get those labs done before it takes YOU over a year to recover from

a crash... sometimes we just " accept " how crappy we feel as normal, cuz when

we were obese, we always were tired, achy and didn't know any better. Don't

wait before it's too late like I did.

Now! NOw! I vote for now!

You forget, I could single-mouthedly support all the labs in America, if I

had my way! Test first, ask questions later, is my motto!
