I have been trying to have orthognathic surgery since the beginning

of 2003.

The process began in 2000 when I had my impacted wisdom teeth and 4

additional teeth removed. My orthodintic treatment began in January

2000. The plan was for me to have upper and lower orthognathic

surgery by early 2003; however my insurance denied my claim. At the

time I was about to turn 21 and I couldn't afford to pay $10,000.

Well, I just started a new plan year with my insurance carrier and

they informed me that the surgery is now covered under my

plan...But, I'm still a little nervous because it's still approved

on a case by case basis. Hopefully, it will be approved.
