Guest guest
Tom, something you could ask about is amitryptyline - it's an antidepressant that is also used for sleep problems. It sort of unwires you, good as a muscle relaxant too. It's sometimes prescribed for people who clench their teeth at night. I take a low dose of it (10 mg) before I go to bed at night - have for over 10 years now. It helps me get to sleep and stay asleep. Hope you get some relief soon. I know that worrying about it makes it worse. > Yeah...it's just totally weird. and i have stopped taking the > prescription meds (lortab) because they kinda make me jittery as > well. i just use 8 hour tylenol...doesn't take away all the pain, > but enough so it's bearable. but i am trying to get out of the house > and stuff. since last tuesday i've been out running a few errands > and visiting some friends. the valium was 5 mg...but i researched it > and it's made more for anxiety than insomnia. i'm going to see my OS > on tues...so maybe i'll ask for another sleep aid. i mean i have to > get some sleep! my fall semester starts back up on thursday. and i > can't help but wonder how much i would have progressed these last 8 > days if i had been able to get some sleep. and the other thing that > kinda hinders my sleep is a pain in my neck. i'm usually a side > sleeper, but i was advised to sleep on my back with my head > elevated. but i have this pain that goes from this little bone that > protrudes from the back of my head down about 4 or 5 inches. i > wouldn't say that it's really painful...but it is sore and i can't > get comfortable when my head is on my pillow. so hopefully things > will start to get better! > > Tom
