Guest guest
Hi Everyone: I will be leaving the group but before I unsubscribe I would like to give an update on my rosacea. Mine was steroid induced about 6 months ago after using Desowen for almost 2 years in treating my seb derm. When it first developed I had awful breaking out with itching bumps (many) along with seemingly permanent bright red flushing as well as swelling. My derm started me on Metrogel and Ketoconazol (Nizarel). After about 6 weeks when I showed no improvement my primary care physician prescribed Doxycycline. The symptoms started to gradually go away. Now, after being on the Doxy about 4 months I have no symptoms at all. No redness, no swelling and no bumps. I only use the Metrogel about 3 times per week, once a day. I'm using the Nizarel only once a day. I'm still on the Doxy. I'm afraid to hope that the rosacea is gone. Who know? cea is tricky. I'll just have to wait and see. I would like to get off the antibiotics but am afraid to try it yet. If I continue to have no symptoms I will discontinue it in a few months. I will be 'holding my breath' when I do. I thought this might be a note of encouragement to those of you suffering from steroid induced rosacea. Meanwhile, I will be unsubscribing but will resubscribe if my symptoms return. Thanks to everyone for their support and info, especially Marjorie. Best of all to you all. Be well.
