Guest guest
Hi, My name is Dana. First time posting, I just did a reply and it worked so trying to send this again. I am currently living in Fort Benning, GA. My hubby is a soldier here in the Army. I am going through military insurance to do this surgery. I have been working on this since last Oct. It has been one of the most emotional rides I have had in my life so far. The paperwork alone, I guess most of you would know. But...I just got all my approvals done and though I don't have an official date yet, I see my surgeon on 3/19. The time frame they have given me with just a few routine checks left it should be done around the end of April (I hope). I have been blessed to be pretty healthy considering my weight (285) but have done all there is to be done and now am so ready to do this, I would be lying to say I'm not nervous but really feel I have learned enough so far (always more to learn too) and feel confident that this will be the chance and change to commit to a new me. I have really not gotten to know anyone who has done this (just few in passing) but no one has really seemed to get to know me. I have not found any support groups yet in my area either. I have researched it extensively online and with my Dr.s and Psychologist. My neighbor suggested this (searching for online groups) so here I am. Just the little I have read so far has been helpful, and the website, oh my gosh, I can't wait to have some time to go through that. I look forward to getting involved with this group as well. I guess I've typed plenty, hopefully not too much. Dana, 36yo, 285, also a March B-day (22nd)
