Some quick advice needed...

I just got my braces put on today to prepare for ortho srugery. I

am pursuing surgery because of TMJ pain. In the booklet that I

received today, it said that a splint is often recommended before

braces to ease the TMJ pain and put the jaw back into position. I'm

kind of worried now because I didn't try the splints first and now I

have the braces on. Does not trying the splints before braces hurt

my chances of getting rid of my TMJ pain after surgery? Can anyone

else with TMJ pain relate to this?
