I have a hernia along the incision line about the size of a tennis ball, which I have lived with for nearly 2 years of my 3+ years out of surgery. (No insurance means you live with it.) I am especially careful when I have a cold, as coughing seems to aggravate it, and I don't lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk. You might seek a second opinion if you are having any pain or if it really bothers you, but as I say, it's probably something that can wait a while. Of course seek medical assistance right away if it becomes very painful or gets considerably larger. ~~ Lyn G

Guest guest
I'd wait, as the surgeon advises, AND keep a close watch. If it gets any worse, see the surgeon ASAP. I went around with a ventral hernia (lap DS) for about nine months before having it fixed, along with tummy tuck and hip & butt lifts. YMMV. --Steve At 1:54 PM +0000 2/14/03, ph Parks wrote: >I had my 1992 VBG revised to a medial RNY on 12/13/01.
