Jo -- numbness in hand, arm and elbow, especially when sleeping, may

be a suggestion of carpal tunnel stuff.

I stalled forever on surgery for that. Lots of pt. Lots of time in

splints. Positional issues can indeed bring on numbness. Give

yourself some time.

Nerve studies can reveal just what's up -- and on that score my

suggestion would be to get the advice from the best neurologist, then

the surgery from the best orthopedic hand specialist you can find,

ASAP. Surgery is easy (but don't let anybody talk you into doing both

sides at once!!!) and quick recovery. I lost all the numbness the

moment I woke up in recovery. No drawbacks. Not worth dodging, imho.
