Guest guest
This past week I had a terrible " burn " to my skin from the water at my daughter's house. She has well water that is treated with a water softener. I usually use only bottled water to wash my face but when I got to her house on Tuesday I was tired (I had driven three hours from my house, picked up her three year old daughter from her neighbor's, gave her a bath and cleaned her up andwas picked up by my son-in-law to go to the hospital to visit her and new baby daugher), no not tired, really really tired - anyway - I just rinsed off my face with the water from the tap. The next morning my face was totally bright red and dry dry dry! Felt awful. Hurt like crazy. None of my normal remedies worked too well to help ease the dryness or the pain. I even ended up with a blood blister on below my lips from the dryness - the burn - something! Anyway - to get to the end of the story. One of the freebies she got in the hospital was a trial size tube of Aquaphor (made by the makers of Eucerin). The literature said it was for chapped skin, dry skin, diaper rash, etc. and that it promotes healing. I was desperate so put some on before I went to bed Friday night. I woke up Saturday morning with my face about 85% better. I used it again on Saturday and by Sunday morning the dryness was gone and all I had left was my usual redness. Amazing stuff. Not everything works for everybody but this sure worked for me. The aquaphor contains: petrolatum, mineral oil, ceresin, lanolin alchol, panthenol, glycerin and bisabolol. I know a lot of these ingredients scare some people but for me is was a godsend!
