Question about a hernia - Anyone have one?

I had my 1992 VBG revised to a medial RNY on 12/13/01. Yesterday,

during my follow-up exam, my surgeon palpated along my scar line like

he always does but this time he told me that I have a hernia. He said

that it's small, showing me about a two inch gap between his thumb

and finger, and he said, " I don't think we'll do anything about it

now. " He asked me if I do any heavy lifting for my work and I told

him that I do not. I asked him if the hernia could get worse and he

answered that it could.

Now, I don't mistrust my surgeon but I would really appreciate some

input from any of you who have actual knowledge of or experience with

hernias along the surgical scar line. I am questioning whether or not

I should push for some action on the hernia or just wait to see what

happens.
