I read an article in the newspaper this weekend about a new method of

treating incontinence. When I saw the web address listed at the end of the

article, I wondered if it was a joke. But I checked and the web site really

exists. I still can’t decide if it is somebody’s idea of a practical joke

though.

This looks like something a woman may have designed as payback for the

mammogram. Has anybody else heard of this thing, or have an opinion about

it? Even if it does work for some situations, it looks like it would be

uncomfortable to sleep with.

My problem is not that I can’t hold it until I can get to a restroom, it’s

that it happens while I am asleep and I don’t know anything about it until I

wake up.

Hi Jim,

At: http://www.geezersqueezer.com/questions.html#competition

I found these two links to similar devices.

http://www.timmmedical.com/c3/index.htm

http://www.freedomvalve.com/freedom/index.htm

I'm pretty sure this is the first time such a device has been mentioned on

the list.

Hopefully someone will ask a urologist about this and get back to us.

Regards,

Pam

Well I should have spent a little more time researching the web site on the

geezersqueezer before I sent my last email. It is not yet in full

production made, still in limited production and evaluation. It does not

yet have FDA of Medicare approval. And most important for my situation, it

is NOT supposed to be used at night.

Hi Jim, Others may be able to benefit from this so thanks for putting out

your question. I don't see where it says to not use at night. Which page

was that on?

Take care,

Pam

Jim:

My husbands urologist give him a prescription for a clamp for Jerry. He was

allecgic to the materials it was made from and ended up with a sore. It

will adjust to where it is comfortable but yet tight enough to be effective.

Jerry had prostate trouble and had surgery to remove some of the growth.

That is when he started having trouble leaking. I cannot remember what kind

of clamp they called it. But he got it at a medical supply. The druggiest

did not know what it was.

Jim,

My advice would be to print out the site and the doctor testimonials and

take it to your doctor to see what they say about it. It is possible

that it can help, but your doctor should know more about possible

complications. I do know that some people on the list use condum

catheters or adult briefs to protect against the night time thing.

Take care, Bill Werre
