Guest guest
Nav, My husband, Sheldon has severe pain in the back and neck area. The Botox injections have helped his pain. Nothing seemed to work to relieve the pain prior to the injections. We just went to UCLA for the 4th time for Botox injections. He has been receiving injections now for over a year. We thought it was worth a try. The neurologist gives him injections all over his back area. The effect of the injections only lasts 3 or 4 months. In time, the body will build up an immunity to the Botox and it will no longer be effective. He still has some pain, but I have noticed quite a difference in him since he started receiving the injections. Best wishes to you in making the decision for your mother. Love and gentle hugs, Verlene

Guest guest
Nav, My wife had Botox shots to relieve dystonia (severe cramps) in her arm and they seemed to work well - but it was only months before she died. They do not last more than about 6 months and sometimes the dose is not right the first time, so you may need to go in several times before they find the correct dose. I have heard that over years they work less and you must get them more often to help. Several people on the list have said they have helped - note they do not help everyone. It is certainly worth a try. Take care, Bill Werre ========================== Navneet Randhawa wrote: >My mom was diagnosed with MSA a year ago. She has very severe >neuropathic pain in her leg. Guest guest
Nav, Have the doctors tried Baclofen and/or Neurontin? These two seem to help very well with a lot of folks with MSA. Guest guest
I am happy to see several have been able to get Botox. Our insurance would not pay for that treatment because they considered it experimental when Ralph applied for it. Have a lovely day everyone. All of you folks in the storms path are still in our prayers. I see it is on the way north east today. Sure wish I could use my little images. I miss sending them to cheer all of you on.
