Guest guest
Hi Robyn, Welcome to the list. We have another member on the east coast of NSW near Merimbula and Bega - probably south of you. Her name is Ford and she lost her husband to MSA in August. Take care, Bill Werre =============================== robynnorman wrote: >Hi folks, this is my first post, and I thought I might just introduce >myself first up. Guest guest
-Thanks for the welcome Bill, I expect I will be a regular visitor to the list over the next few years, so it's really important to feel welcome. Bega is well south of Sydney, although I have never been there, I believe it would be about three hundred klms from the Central Coast where we live ( which is 112klms north of Sydney ).I hope is coping with her loss. Guest guest
Robyn, You know us Yanks, when you said central coast of NSW - I thought of Sydney as being north - we forget how big NSW is. I flew on Hazelton Airlines from Sydney to Merimbula which is right on the coast and it was about an hour with an intermediate stop. Then later I flew north to Gold Coast near Brisbane (Queensland) to see Aussie Anne (not Aussie Ann Merimbula is a small resort area and the country there is beautiful as was the flight down and back The Gold Coast is more of a beach resort area much like Atlantic City area in the USA. However the people in both areas were much friendlier than many people these days in the USA (generally). Everyone you meet even on the street walking around said " G'Day " . I was also lucky that I had local people in both areas with me most of the time. Anne and introduced me to strine a few years ago. While I was there I went to 3 parties and and learned about XXXX and Eskies. I did note that we use charcoal for cookouts or barbies in the USA and they all used wood in Oz. The only thing on TV was aerial pingpong at that time I learned a little about Rugby too, but not enough to know what was going on. Since I was there in May, I only got a brief intro to the Australian salute but did learn that Aussies take driving rules seriously as I was only there two weeks and had to blow in the bag once Of course every car through there that day was stopped (at about 2 PM). Anyhow, that is enough of an earbash for now. Take care, Bill Werre ================================= robynnorman wrote: >-Thanks for the welcome Bill, I expect I will be a regular visitor >to the list over the next few years, so it's really important to >feel welcome. Guest guest
Robyn, I think you made Bill Werre day ) He think's he learn how you Aussie talk from Aussie Annie #1 & when they we're both on here. I don't know about , but Aussie Annie #1 would love to give Bill a bad time and completely mix him up with the way she talked Aussie with 1/2 English. She wanted Bill to think he knew how to talk like you Aussie when he got there. Little did he know Aussie Annie#1 was trying to mix him up. He may of been a little mixed up before that , but he won't tell you that. Anyway if he gives you a hard time, just give it back, he loves it. Welcome to the group.
