Guest guest
Hello, It's been 7 weeks since I had my upper and lower jaw moved forward 12mm with a tongue advancement as well. About two weeks ago I had my suspension wires removed. For the last two weeks I have been trying to open my mouth 5 times a day... with 20 repetitions... about 5 seconds each repetition. For the last 8 days my mouth seems to be stuck with an opening of only 2 centimeters without any sign of improvement! I was told that I could have my braces removed after a week of banding but some of my brackets fell off and they can't band me or take off the braces until I figure out how to open my mouth wider! I'm very frustrated because the braces are really cutting into my lips since my jaws were advanced so far. I wear wax to help with this but it's rather cosemetically creepy looking and causes it's own discomfort in that it pushes my lips out even further. My orthodondist wants me to see a physical therapist... but the only one available this week is an hour or more away. Has anyone had similar issues? Does anyone have any helpful suggestions? thank you... nbd
