Guest guest
Howdy all, Well its been 5 weeks post op (open gastric bypass) now and I feel pretty good, I have lost 50lbs so far and happy about that but I am finding it boring with the soft food diet I have to eat, I like fish and eat that and cheese is good too so don't mind that but I am not sure I am getting the right amount of protien I should what is the average amount we need???? And anyone that has some helpful hints about eating things would be appreciated. I have been craving some toast but not sure I should try it yet? I am not a big breakfast person and find it hard to eat hot cereal it just dont go well for me and I cant seem to eat eggs to much because I get the hives if I do any other breakfast suggestions? Also ANYONE from the Wisconsin area who has had the bypass I would love to communicate one on one with if they dont mind. I don't get online much to write but I do read most of the posts and I try and keep up with email at least once a day so anyone interested in chatting and sharing ideas I would love it. Other than that I seem to be doing pretty good have a hard time with constipation but I think from the dairy products. Also when do you normally get to eat fresh veggies again and salads i sure do miss that type of stuff. And does anyone know how to make home made tortia chips (spelling for **it sorry). Well I hope all else is well and if I can help anyone with how it feels to go through the open surgery just let me know. Thanks for all the great help I have recieved so far.
