I don't post very much on here but I have got to chime in here. I

am sitting here giggling about this ass bacon comment and just have

to say I wish I could eat some of it but I dump when I get near it,

especially if it comes from Cracker Barrel!! Of course I dump on

everything from Cracker Barrel because they must get a tanker full

of ass bacon grease daily to cook all their food in. I am so happy

the whole other negative discussion has ended and we are on to

something so hilariously silly.

I must also say I got so intrigued by the whole Detour bar

discussion I went and ordered me a case to see what the fuss was

about. They are pretty good as far as protein bars go. I have

tried a ton of them and most of them taste like cardboard and

Elmer's glue. However, my personal taste buds tell me the Detour

bars still ain't no Snickers. That is really a good thing too

because I could see me using them like candy. I do enjoy the taste

of them and can eat @ 1/2 one at a time. They are quite large

actually and I don't think I could eat a whole one at one sitting.

I have been a CARB BEAST for @ 2 months now and am trying to make a

plan to break their hold on me. I am hoping the Detour bars are

sort of a " treat " while I try and " detox " from the carbs. I have

bought a bunch of Snapple jars, a plastic funnel from Wal Mart and

ready to pre-load a bunch of bottles with chocolate whey stack so I

can get going on my mission. You all have inspired me to try really

hard to get on track.

You guys just don't know what a help you have been over the past few

months since I first joined this group. My local support group is

not very helpful and all anyone that is struggling ever hears from

our surgeon is " quit snacking between meals. " His office also told

me TUMS was good for calcium and protein drinks were BAD and should

not be used. I feel they are a little behind the curve on this

surgery. Except when people fuss at each other, (I get enough of

that at work) I very much enjoy reading everyone's ideas on here.

Although I cringed at the whole " flatulence " discussion I went right

over to that Parthenon website to get me some of the Devrom. You

all have a powerful effect on my wallet to say the least. Ha... I

appreciate all the good ideas and hope you keep them coming.

R in " Nash-vegas "

P.S. I know sometimes I struggle for something to drink besides

water, coffee, snapple, etc. and I found out from another local

WLS'er that Minute Maid has a new line of light drinks in the

convenience stores now. They have a raspberry kiwi, lemonade, guava

citrus, mango passion and some others. They are not sickly sweet

and only have a little aspartame in them. They have 10 calories and

are quite tasty. They are not making them in 6 packs or larger

sizes yet but supposedly that is coming. The only place I have

found them was a convenience store. I am crazy about them and I am

sure the checkout guy wonders what is wrong with me as I have been

in there every day for a week buying 3 or 4 a day!
