Guest guest
Hi. I am due to have upper, lower and palate expansion. I've had braces for 11 months. My surgeon now wants to do this in December. I saw my orthodontist last Friday and she seems to be panicking at getting me ready for surgery by December and now wants to see me every 3 weeks. It seems all I need is for there to be space in between 2 of my top teeth (each side of my mouth) so that as she put it the surgeon can saw through with nothing in the way. The surgeon wants 3 millimeters. I have on I guess power chains and this other little device in between on the wires on each side of the top teeth. I see a gap now forming there on each side. My question is, is till December enough time to get 3 mm of space? Just wondering if anyone knew. Also, when a palate expansion is done in this manner, how do they do it and has anyone had this done and if so can you give me some details. Thanks!
