Guest guest
The reason for not drinking 30 min before and 30 min after eating is so that your food stays in your pouch longer. This is going to keep you more satisfied longer also. If you drink just before your food, the liquid will make you fuller faster with only a few bites. If you drink while you eat, it can easly wash away or wash down the food out of your pouch, then when these things happen, you end up eating more in a little while. This then can cause more weight gain in the long run. keep it all in mind And one more thing... it takes 30 minutes for your body to tell your head you are full. This is why we are taught to eat slow, take smaller bites, chew each bite and put your fork down when you eat a bite. Take the 20-30 minutes to eat your meals too. This will help to not gorge ourselves. Take care, explanation Ok can someone please explain to me the reason for the 30 minute waiting period between eating and drinking when post-op? I have always waited at least 30 minutes after eating before drinking, probably more, but I just want to know the reasoning behind it..
