the bottom half of my face was rounded (probably because of a

recessive lower jaw)... after 9 months in brace and signficant

reduction in my overjet (from 9mm to 5mm), my face was nice and

square.... after the surgery the surgery the lower part of my face

got a bit thinner...

so, yes my face got thinner... the ortho assistant told me that most

people that have lower jaw advancement get a thinner looking

face..and their nose appears to be smaller since the face is

longer....

also, one cannot guess what their new face will look like after the

surgery by simply moving the jaw forward... i looked very different

that i thought i would.. someone from this forum also emailed me

stating the same experience... it appears tha Niel also agrees...

the slightest change or adjustment can make your face look

different...
