Guest guest
I had my lower jaw moved forward and a sliding genioplasty ten years ago. My bite is good, but the lip incompetence is quite bad. I think it has worsened over time and when I relax my face my lips are at least a quarter inch apart. My OS mentioned post-op that he could have moved the upper jaw back and that would have fixed the problem, but he chose not to do so, as he thought the bite improvement was good enough. I accepted the results at that time and my orthodontist was also all " bouncing with joy " at my results, but I have grown really tired of not being able to shut my lips unless I force them to. They get dry, I play with them a lot, etc. plus my face gets contorted when I close them. I assume that the only real solution will be to do it all over again and I'm consulting with an OS in two weeks. Anyone else with a similar situation.
