Guest guest
Sorry to be a bother with this but I am getting a bit frantic. I will see a derm as quickly as i can perhaps in january of 2003 if I am lucky. The derms' office is booking now for January. Only one derm in an 1800 mile radius. Then that is out of province, Anyway, it seems as it my flaking is not only a symptom that I am experiencing. Wish to goodness one of the 25 derms or so which I have seen in the last 13 years or somewhere in the literature which I have read, that some mention was made of this skin peeling thing. For years I was convinced that the diagnosis of rosacea was wrong. I was not a blusher, not ever in my life. No pimples. Just a very dehydrated skin surface. Anyway, now that there are 4 of us. I am hoping to get some suggestions for us as to the cause. So we wouldlove to hear your opinions on this 1.is it possible that the peeling skin is from the inflammation of the rosacea or whatver is going on underneath. I don't mean peeling after a flare. Just everyday peeling. Like after a sunburn. 2.Would Noritate help with this or perhaps it is contributing to it 3.Is it better to try to oil these flakes down or let them dry off and flake off. 4.is it better to use something to get these flakes off. I had been using for almost 3 weeks the foaming, but now I am afraid that it is making the flakes worse. 5If i use an oil like sr. Sy's body oil could the heaviness of the oil cause the flakes to be worse, in terms of more of them. 6. anyone else out there having this scaling problem. Do I really have to choose between the flakes and the pimples. I don't want to choose. Thanks for all your help but more importantly your kind words and encouragement. regards

Guest guest
Hi , I have the same problem with the flakes. Mine are in a 'streak' along either side of the nose. I exfoliate them with a cotton pad, and put Rozex (your Metrogel) on them to moisturise it a bit: the flakes come back the day after. The exfoliation just gives way to red skin underneath, but it means that I can put sun block on without it collecting all the flakes. Sorry I don't have any solutions, just problems and empathy:-(. Guest guest
Just a guess here, but could peeling skin be a result that follows after skin is swollen, and then goes down? > > 1.is it possible that the peeling skin is from the > inflammation of the rosacea or whatver is going on > underneath. I wouldn't think so, Michele. If so, peeling would be accompanied by skin improvement as the edema recedes. In my experience and what I'm taking away from most posters here, the flakes appear when things are at their worst or getting worse, not as they're getting better.
