Guest guest
Actually I think Matija said age and ages ago that she gets different types of flakes and think this is true. I get similar reactions to any topicals as Majorie had with the vita oil. I get the same from water too. I have noticed though that high fat and sugar diet, or washing my face only with water means that I wake the next day with a face full of them. This is why I have presumed some of it could be seb derm. Although thinking about it Mr Dahl recently reported how our faces cause more mites or something to appear, I wonder if the high sugar and fat just heats uo my body, and not washing the face with soap causes more irritation from them??. Thew weirdest thing is, as I mentionnned moisturisers make them worse for me. I also suffer from edema the next day or sometimes immediately after having used any type of topical. (I have had patch testing so know it's not an allergy) --------------------------------- Get a bigger mailbox -- choose a size that fits your needs. http://uk.docs.yahoo.com/mail_storage.html

Guest guest
I believe you make the flakes worse but using too much oil products. Yes my skin is dry and I would love to just moisturize the hell out of it but I refrain. Overmoisturizing for me just brought on greasy, slimy, creepy flakes made all the much worse trying to put on any kind of make-up. So for months I have been trying to stay away from all those products. I now have just dry flakes that I can live with. In the morning I wash with cea Care Cleanser( I really like it) and then let my face air dry. I do not use a towel at all. Later when I see what my day is going to bring I'll either put on Zinco tinted cream and nothing else. That's if I go out to spend the day in the sun. If I am going to work or whatever I apply a thin coating(dime-sized) of Cetaphil 15 spf moisturizing sunscreen and immediately follow with a little make-up by Arden. Yesterday for the first time in years I felt my face looked good. No flakey looking greasy skin. My nightime regime is washing again with cea Care Cleanser and again letting it air dry. Then an hour later or so I rewet my face and apply a drop of Jojoba oil on the wet skin and then I use the tan rosacea Ltd Disk. I have only been using the disks about a month and not every night. When I first started using them I had horrid burning and itchiness. So by experimenting I found that letting my skin dry naturally and not applying the product immediately there is no burning or itchiness. I am aiming to try and help all the bumps and to get a smoother look. I feel the disks are helping but i am taking it really slow. I am not going to start to use the white disk and or use the disks twice a day like what is reccomended until I am sure my skin can tolerate that. So it's slow, slow going but I can live with what is happening right now. This is after years of using every prescription, antibiotic and whatnot. I no longer see a derm because i really don't want to go back to that vicious cycle. Who knows if the only diagnoses I received was the correct one. After joining this group the one thing i never really experienced was the flushing. I am red but have never had a flush. so go figure. I feel for all you young people that are suffering such bad skin. I was 44 when the doc diagnosed and am now 49 so have only had really bad skin for a few years and now it's not so bad. I can't imagine at 20 to be looking forward to years of this, expecially when appearance is so important to us all. I am really so glad for this group and all the great advice that's been out there. I don't know anyone personally in my group of friends that suffer from this so it's nice to hear from people who know what i am talking about. My friends say they can't really tell but i fear there are just being polite. Take care Cindy
