Majorie I did read your posts on food intolerances.

Just say for example some of what is on my face is eczema (Many members of my

family have severe eczema)that us either caused by a reaction or irritation to

food how long is it before a difference can be seen.

I have asked my GP but sheonly knew that obvious allergies as opposed to

intolerances disappear and appear pretty much as soon as the food is stoppped or

eaten.

Bridget, I don't know much about food intolerances either, but they

are activated by a different pathway than food allergies so its skin

manifestations typically take a while -- I would guess from several

hours to a day. It can be longer, but then you're talking about a

rare manifestation (isolated facial dermatitis) with an unusually

long time course -- that's reportably rare by anyone's standards.

Note that while Celiac disease (from Suzi's note) is technically an

intolerance to gluten, the mechanism behind it is much different

than, for example, an intolerance to wheat (one of the most common

food intolerances). Unlike a classic wheat intolerance, Celiac

disease is an immune-mediated disorder that may present subclinically

with few if any symptoms.

So Celiac disease may very well present with only a dermatitis, and

will probably take weeks to resolve on a gluten-free diet. From what

I've read, though, the rash's description and location doesn't sound

too easy to confuse with rosacea. (see #39232)
