I'm sure that this has been posted about many times - I apologize if this is

redundant. I started to use Cetaphil cleansing bar for sensitive skin a couple

of weeks ago when my skin could no longer tolerate my regular cleanser. I

wonder if this is the cause of my dry, flaky skin? I thought it was supposed to

be gentle, but perhaps it's drying out my skin? I don't have oily skin -

perhaps the bar is too drying? Any current or past users of Cetaphil bar out

there?

I have been using this Cetaphil bar for several months now and also noticed

this drying effect after a couple of weeks of use. But I really liked the

cleansing it provided and the fact that it did not irritate my overall

redness. So I have found now that I can use it every other day, which seems

to keep my skin from getting to dried out.

Kim,

I have been using Cetaphil bar for almost 4 months now and can't complain.

Normally, my skin needs a moisturizer, but I find the Cetaphil bar quite

moisturizing. I am now able to completely skip a mosturizer in the morning,

actually for the entire day, if I am staying indoors. Otherwise I would use

sunscreen, but I don't put it on until later in the day, like before the

lunch break or so.

These days, so little goes on my skin - I wash with Cetaphil in the morning

and at night, and during the day I use sunscreen (if any) and at night

Herbacort (after I wash my face). So I am almost back to my old self -

almost to the point of neglecting facial care. ;-)

I tried the Cetaphil bar for a while and found it very drying. My skin does

much better with creamy cleansers (right now I'm using Aveeno Creamy Baby

Cleanser, which I really like).
