Guest guest
Hi - I have read all the emails for two years now (that was when my dad was d/a with this horrible disease). I am now writing in hopes that with all in the incredible knowledge that this group has, that maybe I can find an answer for my dad. Three weeks ago he entered the hospital with kidney disease (thank God I had the knowledge from this list to know that the rapid downhill progression in a couple of days time was a big danger sign). He is now in rehab in the hospital, but he is still extremely exhaused and all he wants to do is sleep. This past weekend he could not even do his physical therapy because he was so exhaused. His doctor seemes to think that the diease is causing the exhaustion and incapacitation, but I find that hard to believe since he was not even half this bad a week before he was in the hospital. He says that he is amazed at the rapid deterioration. I guess my question is this, Is that possible that he would deteriorate that fast even after being on antibiotics for fourteen days, or could there be something else wrong. I really appreciate all the fantastic advise I have received here for the past two years and I keep all the patients and caretakers of this tragic disease in my prayers. Thanks for your help. Guest guest
Hi RMADM4, It sounds to me as if there is still some sort of infection going. Often a blood infection (septis) will come from a UTI. It may take a different antibiotic to cure the second infection. That is my guess, but I am not a doctor.
