Guest guest
I have been confused about this for a long time. Does cea gradually progress to the late stage? Is this a natural progression that cannot be stopped? I am just wondering if I should expect my rosacea to worsen over time. Does R always progress or does it only progress if it is not treated? ---------------------------------

Guest guest
Personally, I've found that my rosacea hasn't progressed - it's the same as it was eight years ago, no better, no worse. Simon

Is this a natural progression that cannot be stopped? I am just wondering if I should expect my rosacea to worsen over time. Does R always progress or does it only progress if it is not treated? < I was diagnosed in 1989, nearly 13 years ago and mine has not progressed. Well maybe a few more broken blood vessels but hey aging, life, the sun and my zealous use and over use of topicals or heredity could be responsible for that. I know that the areas whcih I had treated with the pulse dye laser about 8 years ago are still perfectly clear. Newer ones have cropped up. I never had pimples or bumps in 1989 and I still do not have any. During that 13 year period I have soaked up the sun in the Caribbean, did long walking tours on the Irish coast, bakes in tanning beds, and not used topicals or taken orals. So mine has not progressed. I need to remind myself that I am lucky that my skin is as soon as it is, except for one little thing, I want it perfect. Being a perfectionist is not a good trait coupled with having rosacea. If you want to chat, feel free to e-mail me privately. Guest guest
My rosacea progressed. I had it for about 12 years before it got worse. The flushes became more intense and came daily (compared with seasonally) and the skin began to get permanently red. Does cea progress? > > I have been confused about this for a long time. Guest guest
Kim, check out the answer the NRS has for this: Q.ÊÊWill my rosacea get worse with age? A.ÊÊThere is no way to predict for certain how an individual's rosacea will progress, although physicians have observed that the signs and symptoms tend to become increasingly severe without treatment. Moreover, in a National cea Society survey, about half of rosacea sufferers said without treatment their condition had advanced from early to middle stage within a year. Fortunately, compliance with medical therapy and lifestyle modifications to avoid rosacea triggers has been shown to effectively control its signs and symptoms on a long-term basis. source > http://www.rosacea.org/patients/faq.html Brady Barrows rosacea-control.com -- In rosacea-support@y..., Kim <cupkim2002@y...> wrote: > > I have been confused about this for a long time. Guest guest
hey i like the NRS's new web format alot more...its pretty organized. but why do the borders HAVE to be red? =P red is now my least favorite color..as if they have to remind us that we're red..haha. also, on the picture on the homepage ,would that be classified as moderate or severe rosacea?? i also discovered there's a reader survey on rosacea in the current issue (Summer 2002) on the rosacea.org website entitled " development of rosacea " . there's room for comments at the bottom and i urge everyone to chastise NRS for not mentioning other possible treatment options such as nutritional supplements, laser, antihistamines, antihypertensives etc. which have helped many who do not respond to the standard antibiotics or topicals. i dont know why i'm so annoyed at NRS but i am. honestly, their Q & A section is pathetic. the current one includes someone asking how to avoid blushing in front of small groups because they feel really aware and embarrassed of their glowing red face, and all NRS says is that blushing is part of rosacea and you have to avoid situations where you will blush, flush yadda yadda...arghh... stupid nrs! theyre like a broken record. sorry bout that..but really..i urge everyone to fill out the survey! take care, > > > > I have been confused about this for a long time.
