Guest guest
....and if I don't, at least I'm going to slow it down. I actually had an ETS consultation scheduled today to control my blushing/flushing, but after reading several postings of post-ETS surgery, I found one's flushing could be many times worse after. Some days I'm in an " I give up " mood, but today I'm going to put up a fight. I've been told I have rosacea by two derms. I'm lucky, I don't have acne, I just have intense redness and heat on my cheeks and nose always. During bad times, the redness extends to my forehead, temples, and chin. I notice that the number of visible vessels are increasing. I don't know if it's related or not, but a month ago a had extremely bad and scarring acne on my shoulders and back...my doctor gave me Zoloft for psychiatric reasons (can someone tell me what this is for?) and the acne on my back disappeared. Anyway, between this forum and another blushing/flushing forum, I'm putting together a new regimen that I hope packs a punch. The other forum is: http://www.bfsforum.com I could spend days there, and still learn. Here's my regimen plan: 1. A multivitamin shake everyday (I seem to flush with the pill) 2. A horse chestnut combination 3. Zyrtec (A great allergy pill for internal and external allergens). 4. Twice daily cleansing with Zia Fresh Cleansing Gel 5. No make-up or moisturizers (just my preference) 6. Clinique City Block (I'm buying it tonight. How is it?) 7. MSM supplement (I bought this today. How is it?) 8. I'm looking into herbal chinese medicine at this site, check it out: http://www/herb-doc.com/acne.htm Has anyone tried this? 9. I'm going back to the accupuncturist here in Los Angeles. It's a Accupuncture school and the students work with you under the instructor's guidance. Only $20 a visit. It's called Samra University. 10.Minimize carbohydrates and other diet triggers. Slap me on my wrist, but I love a cigarette after dinner. 11.Exercise, but with minimum stress. I've done a beginner's Yoga tape everyday this past week and from the first day after the workout, I woke up to a dramatically less flushed flush with smooth baby skin, and it held up throughout the day. It's been amazing. I'm so happy with the results, I bought a pilates tape to try tonight. A couple things I'm looking into: Many claim to have been helped using a combination of effexor, propranolol, and clonidine to control facial flushing/blushing. Although I dissaprove of most makeups, I've heard of something called Almost Makeup. Has anyone tried this, and does it irritate the skin? For the finishing touch, when I get this situation under control, I'm going for the photoderm. I still have to have hope. The day I don't is the day I admit defeat. So after 5 years this is where I'm at. Let's all list our regimens and collaborate. Together we are stronger. Please respond. Love you all, Greg

Now that I have that out of the way, let me just say that I agree thoroughly with the last part of your post: " Let's all list our regimens and collaborate. Together we are stronger. " So true. Have you been taking the horse chestnut yet? I will begin early next month (I'm buying it at the GNC and I'm waiting until my GNC discount kicks in.) about 5 days before my 2nd FotoFacial treatment. I'm hoping that what I read about the escin in horse chestnut making blood vessels less permeable and more resistant to destructive enzymes is true. Perhaps under the influence of escin, the facial vessels that my body creates following my FotoFacial will be of a better quality than the sundry damaged ones they will be replacing. I hope. The cea Board is a classy piece of work which should be treated with the respect deserving of the warm, attractive entity that it is. We may put up with you cheating on us with other forums, Greg, but you better not lead us on just to dump us in the end. We'll drag you on Jerry Springer in a heartbeat.
