Guest guest
I don't know if it is just me, but I have probably seen about 6 derms in the past 3 yrs. My impression is that derms in general don't have the first clue about the disease we know as rosacea. For instance, I asked my last 3 derms the ?, " what causes cea? " I was stunned when each told me that the cause was due to a " type of bacteria " that " lived on the surface of the skin " ! (2 of them laid blame on our favorite culprit the Demodex Mite >gee i hope i got the Demodex spelling right > * I asked the most recent derm about Moxonodine and Clonodine. He'd never heard of them. I showed him Dr Nase's book and suggested it as an alternative to the regular (I.e anti-bacterial pills, metro creams and lotions, etc) for treating environmental, stress related flushing. This Derm said he wouldn't prescribe it because it would make me " dizzy " . I asked him and the previous derm about low dose accutane. Again, they didn't (and i presume still don't) have the foggiest clue that low dose accutane was a viable treatment for rosacea. I got the " you don't have acne " look like I have just landed here from another planet. * I could go on and on, but i'm sure most of you are familiar w/ the indifference that the medical establishment (specifically derms) have towards treating this disorder. Hence i'll jump off of my soapbox. * This all leads to a question that I am posing >>> Since this appears to be a vascular disorder, shouldn't I be going to vascular specialists who might have a general idea as to how to treat a problem with weakened blood vessels?? THanks for listening all!
