Guest guest
My nose seems to have started swelling. besides the fact that its been getting red all the time now, the sides of the nsotril skin have gotten thicker and i think the tip is becoming a bit hard and possibly bulbous? (my nose has always looked a tiny bit bulbous, not very obvious though). and i cant eat ANYTHIGN over room temperature without my nose becoming hot. help! also i have this constatnt weird sensation that my nostrils are flared even though theyre not (i suspect this is all due to inflammation -- the naturopath that did iridology on me 2 weeks ago told me i had inflammation in my nose.) (this better not be the beginning of rhynophyma.. thats not supposed to happen for another 40 years! then again this is rosacea....) honestly,i can deal with the cheek flushing, ear flushing, even my forehead flushing but the nose has got to be the worst one just because it feels so completely unnatural, and i get like 5 million different sensations on it at the same time. (hot, but also tingly, buzzy, and like someone is smothering the side with a piece of hot velvet. <-- ok i dont know where that description came from but its pretty accurate) anyway, if anyone has gone thru something similar or has a remedy pLEASE respond. thanks. i put cutanix on it the past 3 nites but i dont know if it made it better or worse ... Guest guest
, what you're describing is definitely not rhinophyma. Everything you describe is consistent with first stage rosacea, though I can't know if it's unusually rapid progression vs. your continuing attention to details. Consider showing this post to those who love you and ask them to honestly tell you if your descriptions and concerns are realistic, or if you are obsessing. That might help you decide whether you need more aggressive dermatologic or medical care to help manage your flushing, or more aggressive psychological therapy to help you deal with it. Good luck. Guest guest
I experience that annoying tingling sensation in my nose practically all day long.............ahhhh! I didn't know it was an acknowledged side effect, but it appears to be due to rosacea indeed. I have not found anything to help. Possibly drinking very cold ice water helps a bit. The sensation is maddening, isn't it? Oh, what's cutanix? help- nose swelling?? > My nose seems to have started swelling. besides the fact that its > been getting red all the time now, the sides of the nsotril skin have > gotten thicker and i think the tip is becoming a bit hard and > possibly bulbous? Guest guest
, and all... I don't believe I had allergies previously, although I do have dark circles under my eyes which is sometimes indicative of allergies (allergic shiners). I have not had a history of nose bleeds either. The other really annoying side affect concerning my nose is that my nose runs almost every time I eat. Does anyone else have that problem? Thanks for the cutanix info. I'll look that up. It's worth a try. help- nose swelling?? > > > > > > > My nose seems to have started swelling. besides the fact that its > > > been getting red all the time now, the sides of the nsotril skin > have > > > gotten thicker and i think the tip is becoming a bit hard and > > > possibly bulbous? Guest guest
I think the " nose running while you eat " problem might be solved with a mast cell stabilizer spray like OTC nasalcrom ? something's obviously triggering some kind of release mechanism in your nose...sort of like when really spicy food makes people's eyes and nose run? not sure but u could give it a try. then again if you also have the swelling problems you might want to be cautious, today my nose started feeling all flushed and swollen so i sprayed in nasalcrom...and i think it actualy made it worse so ive been breathing through my mouth for the past 3 hours... damn rosacea. my derm seems to think i should smother elidel all over my entire face ,including nose and EARS (becaue i told him my ears were get flushed also). um... has anyoen else done this? im a little worried that 10 gallons of elidel on me every night might be a little excessive. > > > I experience that annoying tingling sensation in my nose > > practically all day > > > long.............ahhhh!
