I tried a product called 'Health Skin' based on TCM. After three months,

it seemed to make

little or no difference, despite the fact that the treatment called for

taking 18 pills a day in

three groups of six.

What specific type of treatment are you using?

thanks,

Chinese medicine is based on the theory of the elements and treatments are

based on balancing those elements, through lifestyle, diet, herbs, and

bodywork, such as acupressure, acupuncture and massage.

The five elements are fire, earth, air, water, and metal. There are a variety

of treatments and they are not all " medicines " as we define medicine in the

west. You have to put on a completely different hat to understand and study

Chinese medicine. Balancing Yin and Yang is key to this system, Chinese

medicine considers the whole body and the whole person and does not fragment

treatment as western medicine often does. Personally I appreciate both.

If " Chinese medicine " does the trick for someone, that's fine. But I'm

certainly not going to knock modern medicine and paint this ancient

discipline as universally superior. After all, if Chinese medicine is so

much better, why don't Chinese live longer, healthier lives?

In China, the infant mortality rate is 28.08 per 1,000 live births and the

life expectancy is 71.62 years overall -- 69.81 for men, and 73.59 for

women.

In the United States, the infant mortality rate is 6.76 per 1,000 live

births and the life expectancy is 77.26 overall -- 74.37 for men, and 80.05

for women.

>>>Chinese medicine is so

Because most people in China can't afford it. those herbs can get

pretty expensive. ;) it's usually considered a luxury.
